Kind, Elemental

Sun warms broad shoulders
to paint them red, or brown, or black.
Iron arms churn earth;
clay and rock turned soil and mud.
Life planted and tended
as our hero tires, sweats,
returns home to rest,
holds another close, breast to breast.
Love is simple, kind, and known.
Like soil, dust, or unearthed stone.
